In 2000 the company AROS Applied Biotechnology was formed in collaboration with Aarhus County. This company offers molecular analysis at GLP level. Aros is an official Affymetrix Microarray service provider, with facilities for high-throughput array services for pharmaceutical companies. Aros also offers other contract research and tissue banking services.

A core-centre providing services within the array area has been established in 2003 as a unit associated with The Clinical Institute at Aarhus University.

From 2003 to 2008 MDL housed the Danish Research School in Molecular Oncology funded by the Danish Research Council. The Research school educated a number of new PhD's and was based on excellent collaboration between laboratories across Denmark.
